There are not many things that are as exciting as seeing a young person's potential and helping them to reach their dreams and goals. As a tutor, I have the incredible opportunity to help my students realize their academic potential. I enjoy tutoring the subjects or math and writing, as well as test preparation and homework support. Test prep is my favorite subject to tutor, as students have a lot anxiety when it comes to exams, especially standardized tests. There is pressure to get a certain score, and I like to help them with their confidence by teaching them test strategies and familiarization. With the right preparation, tests are not as overwhelming as they seem. Gaining confidence and being familiar with a test is just as important as the test questions and content. I completed a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy with a minor in Creative Writing at Centre College in Kentucky (the best school you've never heard of). I have tutored students in Chicago in the areas of study skills, organization, ACT (all subjects) prep, and math. I am happy to continue tutoring, this time in the state of Colorado. My hobbies include cooking, shopping, reading, and watching reality television.
